Companies Registration in UK changes from 1st of January 2021.
From the 1st of January, if your company was registered under EU Law, the changes will be as follows:
- These are European public limited liability companies, societas Europaea (SEs)
These companies can now be a UK societas, converted to a PLC or be wound up. If you are a client we have already contacted you to discuss any changes, if you are not and are interested in our services, please contact us in confidence for a confidential conversation about your Company.
- European economic interest groupings (EEIGs)
These can now be UKIG, UK interest groups.
- If you are a UK Company with EU Corporate Officers
Please note that you now need to provide a full description of the EU Corporate Officer, name, registered office address, legal form and its governing law register and registration number in the Country of incorporation.
You have 3 months from the 1st of January 2021 to do this.
- UK companies and cross border mergers
You have until the 31st of December 2020 to complete such mergers as these will not be able to take place after Brexit.
- European Economic Area (EEA) companies
If you have a UK establishment of an EEA Company, you now need to provide the same information as an overseas Company, this means you need to provide the same information registered at the 'home' register.
If you are a client, you will have had all information regarding these changes provided to you depending on your entity and the type of contract you have.
